Victims Identified

Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that five people were killed and two were seriously injured in an early-morning crash on the westbound Highway 401 between Belleville and Trenton on Saturday.

The crash happened at 3:45 a.m. Police have identified the five victims killed in the collision, which involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

The victims have been identified as:

• John Doe, 35, of Belleville
• Jane Doe, 32, of Trenton
• Richard Roe, 40, of Belleville
• Susan Roe, 38, of Trenton
• Thomas Brown, 25, of Belleville

The two injured victims were taken to hospital in serious condition.

The highway was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
