Rent Free Josh Hader Loved Getting Booed By Padres Fans In Win

Dodgers’ Josh Hader gets revenge on Padres with rent-free dominance

San Diego fans rained down boos on the former closer, but he shut them up with a dominant outing

Hader struck out four and allowed just one hit in 1 1/3 innings of relief

Josh Hader had a rough go of it in San Diego last year, getting booed mercilessly by Padres fans after signing a one-year, $11 million deal with the division rivals.

But on Tuesday night, Hader got the last laugh.

The Dodgers’ closer entered the game in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and one out, and he promptly struck out Jurickson Profar and Ha-seong Kim to end the inning.

Hader then returned to the mound in the eighth and struck out the side, sending the Padres fans home with a sour taste in their mouths.

"It was a lot of fun," Hader said after the game. "I love pitching in front of a hostile crowd. It gets me going."

Hader’s outing was a huge boost for the Dodgers, who are now 10-4 this season.

It was also a bit of revenge for Hader, who was booed relentlessly by Padres fans last season.

"It’s always nice to get the last laugh," Hader said.

Hader’s dominance continued on Wednesday, as he struck out the side in the ninth inning to earn his second save of the season.

The Dodgers are now 11-4 this season, and Hader has been a big part of their success.

With his ability to shut down opposing offenses, Hader is quickly becoming one of the most feared closers in baseball.
